Planning is at the core of all contemplated building projects. It can take a variety of forms and range from the planning needed to successfully design a small project component to a master plan incorporating multiple buildings, sites, and client needs. Baysinger Design Group provides a wide range of planning services including broad master planning, long range facility planning, and facilities programming to name a few. BDG utilizes a variety of planning tools during the planning process including design charrettes, various programming documents, cost estimating, financial feasibility analysis, and graphic plans among others to ensure a finished planning project which best addresses the owner's current and future needs.

Master Planning Project: Massac CUSD #1 District Wide Master Plan

The Massac CUSD #1 District Wide Master Planning Project started in 1999 when the School District decided they needed to overhaul the majority of the district's nine school buildings and reorganize the grade levels and students into newer facilities which better addressed the district's current and future educational goals and demographics. The architects of Baysinger Design Group, with the assistance of the community and district personnel, created a first phase Master Plan which addressed the replacement of aged school facilities with three new facilities, closed five existing school buildings, reorganized grade level structure within the district, and located the new facilities to address current and projected growth patterns within the district boundaries. Those facilities were designed and constructed from 2000-2004. Currently, Baysinger Design Group is hammering out the details on the second phase of the master plan which will pick up where the first phase ended and ultimately provide the District with a final master plan which addresses the district's needs well into the twenty-first century.
